Pearls

JUNE BIRTHSTONE

June has three birthstones: pearl, alexandrite, and moonstone, each offering unique beauty and symbolism.
Pearl

Pearls are the most traditional and widely recognized birthstone for June. Unlike other gemstones, pearls are organic gems formed inside living mollusks such as oysters or mussels when layers of nacre build up around an irritant. They have been prized for thousands of years, symbolizing purity, wisdom, and wealth. Pearls require no cutting or polishing to reveal their natural luster, making them a timeless choice for jewelry such as necklaces, earrings, and pendants.

Cultured pearls are created through human intervention, while natural pearls form spontaneously in the mollusk

Alexandrite

Alexandrite is a rare and dramatic gemstone discovered in Russia in the 19th century. It is famous for its color-changing property, appearing green in daylight and reddish under incandescent light. This optical phenomenon makes alexandrite highly valued and symbolic of balance and transformation. Due to its rarity, alexandrite is considered one of the most precious gemstones in the world, often used in rings or pendants for a striking and memorable gift

Moonstone

Moonstone is known for its ethereal glow, called adularescence, where light seems to float beneath the surface of the stone. Historically, it has been associated with lunar cycles and mystical qualities. Moonstone has been popular in jewelry for centuries, especially during the Art Nouveau period, and is appreciated for its soft, glowing appearance that contrasts with the brilliance of faceted stones. It is often used in rings, necklaces, and other decorative pieces.
